shit, i didn't know that about split lip derwood...like i said, i haven't been really following them. that sucks donkey balls.

as for the other...i hear you on the hayseed dixie. as for the gourds...they have mostly original material...i think they did that gin & juice cover as part of their live shows a long time ago as a funny crowd gimmick...and it just fucking caught on. i wouldn't really call their material bluegrass, actually - more along the lines of folk / acoustic rock that frequently features a mando. the first time i heard that cover, it was brilliant to me. now...its sometimes hard to listen to. ok, usually.

ps and btw: you ever listen to the asylum street spankers? you might like them if you like split lip rayfield.
