thanks to comrade pigglet, i think i can do this embedding operation.
i'm not really a bluegrass fan at all--i grew up with it, though, so i've listened to alot of it--but i also avoid it when i can. it's a string player music and i am not one. but once i was away from it for a while, i got to appreciate the care that the players who do it put into it.
here are some of the things i kinda like...
seldom scene back in the day, with john duffy.
there's not much footage about of them, but there is this old chestnut:
here's another old chestnut: stéphane grappelli with david grisman.
i liked earlier grisman stuff quite alot--less and less as time went on. last things i heard had a truly miserable flute player. i dont this that jazz is as easy as some of these cats seem to think it is--but whatever, this stuff is grand:
and for sentimental reasons, here's a clip of the horseflies. they are very very ithaca ny. and they only get to me live. so this:
