As an adopted child myself, I can give you my opinions as to when and how to tell your daughter based on my experiences.
You should tell her as early as you feel she will understand and ask questions about it. I was 3 or 4 years old when my parents told me, and it was a non-issue growing up.
It really doesn't matter how you tell her, just make sure she knows that you love her and you biological daughter equally.
