maybe he buys popcorn and candy...i have a friend that does that each and every time, even after stuffing himself with food prior to the movies.
In NYC costs me $11.50, and on opening night you have to use Fandango or other service so add $1.00 to that and that doesn't include popcorn or anything else. and no there are no such things as matinees in Manhattan for movies.
