Regarding the yellow iris, next time bring yarn/string and various kinds of clips (binder clips, paper clips, etc.) so that when you photograph a flower, you can use the string and clips to unclutter the plant. For instance, I would have pulled down the iris just below it at the bottom of the frame so that it wasn't in the shot at all. Cropping this picture to remove it would make it feel too cramped at the bottom and it occupies too substantial an amount of the frame to just clone or blend it out and still allow it to look natural.
