I need to chastise your business teacher. Criminality is only on facet of business ethics. Hostile takeovers are not illegal, but can often be unethical. Corporate social responsibility suggests that organizations should consider the interests of customers, employees, shareholders, communities, and ecological issues in every decision they make. As such, the obligation extends beyond legality and profit. Any and every organization that is run by moral people should always have these considerations.
