Well, for cheaply, go to the local community college. Quickly? I don't really know what to say besides the obvious: Take as many classes as quickly as possible (especially before the kids come to live with you). I recommend it's in something you enjoy, it will make the work go faster.
Talk to folks at the college(s) and get their input on programs and financial assistance. Realize that the info you get from the advisors will be inconsistent and should not be taken as gospel.
