Flushed Away:
After seeing the stopmotion of walace and gromit, I wanted to see what they could do with some 3d animation instead. This movie is about a rat who's rich and wealthy that gets flushed and is in the sewers with the other rats. he then tries to get back to his home on the surface.
Sounds kinda fun? well it's not. I'll talk about the story 1st: it drags and drags and all the jokes, it's just more of the same. Dialogue is flat and lifeless. I was actually falling asleep while watching this. Now the 3danimation is allright but considering it's almost the same as what they would have done in stopmotion, then I don't give em much. So maybe a rental for the kids but that's it.
overall: 4/10

Deja Vu
I felt like watching a pure Hollywood movie and this did the job. The story is simple but not even close to what the previews say. "theres a terrorist explosion so theres a special force that hires Denzel washington(a ATF agent) to help them catch the killer. " but heres the fun part: they're using a satellite system that can watch images from 4 days before in real time. (anywhere they want). So it's a bit slow on the sci-fi but when they get into detail with the camera, then it gets fun. Just remember to close your brain on this one because there is some time travel paradox that just don't make sense. Watch it for the crazy action and intense suspense.
overall: 7.5/10

Alpha Dog
I wasn't sure this would be a good movie just from the preview. And i was right. This movie drags on and on and when it picks up, it's just not good enough to save the movie. heres the story: "Johnny is a drug dealer. Jake owes money to Johnny but can't pay so Johnny and his crew(like 5 other guys) decide to do something about it. later that day, they see Jake's brother walking down the street(Zack) so they kidnap him in exchange for the money.
things get messy when they talk to a lawyer who explains that kidnap + ransom = life in jail. Even though the kid(Zack) gets to party and all with the crew, he's still stuck in the middle and when Johnny gets scared that the kid would talk to the cop if he was released, they decide to kill him.
This Would have made a cool movies if they didn't give ALLL that info in the fucking preview. I'm sick of seeing the full movie play out in 30sec before i even see it. Anyways, if you want to see a bunch of stoned guys who do stupid things, then go for it.
