It can take a few months, so don't stress about it if it doesn't happen for you right away. You should know her cycle. Usually, two weeks after the start of her last menstrual start is when she is most fertile. You can take it a step further by monitoring basal metabolic temperature which is supposed to trend up slightly when she is fertile.
For us, as soon as we decided to stop trying "not" to concieve, we were pregnant. Seriously, one shot and we were done. Maybe you'll be as lucky.
