The ID3 Tags for each song might need to be edited so that WMP can properly read it and register it.
It could be that your friend didn't bother to use the song tags, and now you are left to do the job yourself.
But unless you can get your wireless mp3 player to choose which song you want to listen to, I really don't see the problem.
Maybe it is that you want to choose which songs get transferred to your mp3 player, thereby eliminating the chance that a
couple of shit-songs creep their way into your playlist.
