Not that I can speak for Charlatan, but I look at LoTR as the real story. The Hobbit is sort of an easy reading prologue to LoTR. It gets you into it, as a first chapter would, but isn't really the meat or point of the story; all that comes later, in LoTR. Is it weird to say I like the prologue more than the actual story?
