Here in Aust, they show womens netball.
There's not really a male equivalent to netball.
I guess that the audience is mostly female. Thing is though - the netballers have a much nicer costume than (female) basketballers. They have a little skirt. It's much more sexy than shorts or the lycra suits that Aust woman basketballers wear.
I could watch netball for the legs. After a few moments though I'll start figuring the scores, players and strategies out somewhat. I think it's got some potential. In either case - they don't need guys to watch. If enough women showed an interest, that'd be an audience worth having advertising-wise.
