Most people really wont care until something directly affects their life. If sea levels rise enough to start flooding coastal cities, people will care then. Well, people in coastal cities anyway.
Its not hard to understand, that the earth can only support so many humans. We can choose to control our population, our suffer the consequences. Then again, nature has its own methods of control. Our problem may be solved for us.
