have you tried the windows defrag programs? if you can, get a diffrent degragger that will do the defrag on boot.
(defrag before it gets in windows will allow the program to defrag even the system files. something that windows cannot do because it's in use.)
diskeeper 2007 was recommended in the last pcworld. theres a trial too.
