Try watching the movie in your own quarters without a theater full of people, and the movie is very un-funny. It was like watching an episode of Cops or something. If I were flipping through the channels on a Sunday morning, and found Borat, it would be funny - but when you sit down and watch it on purpose, it's pretty bland. I don't understand where the hype came from. It was more awareness/amusing than funny. The huge "spoiler scene" that everyone kept talking about resorted to college fratty/crude humor to deliver. A nut sack in the face was the last thing I expected to be the monumentally funny part of a movie. The pentecostal church scene was much funnier. The church scene was the only true laugh out loud scene in my opinion.
I think this movie just got hyped up because it's probably funnier when you have a theater full of people to feed off of each other.

i was laughing with everyone else i guess. oh well. I'm glad i got the experience at the movies. once i saw it on DVD, it was exactly like you said. some parts are just simply funny but some others are boring.
"how fast should I go if I want to kill them?"
-"with this hummer, around 35-40miles." hhaha
