if it was my last day, i'd probably pull out some smartass questions for him. it would be a very real possibility. you're not going to get real answers, so you might as well have fun.
i think i'd ask him if he wanted to go nab a beer. i'd love to talk to the guy when the cameras were off. try to persuade him that i wasn't going to go tabloid on him, and listen to his perspective, aided by alcohol.
