I've always liked the plain old Logitech optical mouse like
this one. I have been using my current one at home for almost six years, never had a problem with it. I bought one for work to replace the big clunky mouse on my work computer. It is the right balance of simplicity, ease of use, the right size, and the right amount of heft.
