haha... The math doesn't bug me. I can deal with it. I just don't like the whole concept of "expected" gratuity. Even yesterday, after dishing out $76 on a meal (Memories of Japan) for the family, and the service being typically mediocre (don't get me going about the busboy vacuuming the dining room with a shop vac while we were eating!!!!) I had to ante up a tip. Why? because it's expected. And people say that if you can't afford to eat out, then don't do it. Well, I can afford the occasional dinner out, but the 20 dollar difference between Swiss Chalet and Memories of Japan??? I would rather tip the Swiss Chalet server 25% for the harder effort, rather than cringe at the thought of adding another 15% to a 76$ bill.
ya ya, I'm a tight-wad. so what.
And I don't really notice the 1% decrease in GST other than that.
