I have an '05 FZ6... which actually sounds about perfect for your preferences. It is very sporty, it has a slightly detuned R6 engine (still plenty fast though... 0-60 in less than 4 seconds), has the naked style, and you sit in a more upright position compared to the true sport bikes.

I've always been a big fan of Yamaha products... and I really do love this bike, I just should've been a smarter consumer when shopping for a motorcycle.
