Do Air Fresheners attract Roaches?

Here's my observation.

My apartment gets muggy and I don't have the cabbage to rebuy a bunch of air filters/cleaners. So I bought an automatic air deodorizer -like the ones that the advertise on tv. You know the ones -they operate on batteries and provide a steady stream of scent for about a month.

Since I put this in my apartment -I have been killing roaches more and more roaches. A brief glimpse at the manufacturers website -and I realize that they also sell home insecticides.

So here are several options:

#1 (The non paranoid option) My apartment has been turned into a muggy -sweet smelling place that roaches by their very nature find appealing.

#2 (Paranoid option) The chemicals in my deodorizer are designed to attract roaches so that I will be inclined to buy more stuff -like roach spray.

#3 (Both Paranoid and Non-paranoid) The chemicals in my deodorizer also coincidently attract roaches. Perhaps the company also reuses the chemical in their roach bait -but just didn't care enough to not use it in deodorizer.
