Neat Political Animation on Privacy
So I've seen more and more of these neat little political animations.
They are pretty slickly done, and (in my opinion) pretty good at putting a position accross.
<object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/jJTLL1UjvfU"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/jJTLL1UjvfU" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>
This one is about the "Big Brother State", or the surviellance society, as justified by the current Terror scare.
Do you think this kind of political animation is effective? Better than an essay or political cartoon? (it does probably take more man-hours of effort than either)
At the least, I think the ability to generate such political shorts is good for liberty -- one of those benefits of lowering the cost of communication that the internet embodies.
The fact that they place nearly as much emphasis on trusted computing as they do on wiretaps, biometrics required to be permitted to travel, and CCTVs is also somewhat interesting. My view of trusted computing was that it was an annoyance that I'd have to avoid -- but, if you think about it, it could be slipped down our throats.
Thoughts?
