Thats true, I have never really had a need to go out past 100 yds, longest shot was 106 but that was a one time thing, and I could have waited for him to come in. I think the .280 may be a fad, and I just didnt know where it stood. I would love to have a .270 just for the fact that it seems to resist dings and flying off course a lil better then the 06. As far as the .45-70 idk, would have to try one out first. How about the availibilty of ammo for it? I do have a winchester .30-30 that I use when im really far down in the bottoms with tons of underbrush. I guess that answeres my own questions.
