You're really looking for a solution for what works. You're not gonna really gain anything, but you may know that.

eh, the .270 does shoot a bit flatter than the 06.
now, heres the simple truth of the matter, lighter bullets fired faster through brush have less of a chance of resisting deflection than a larger slower moving bullet.
Consider a new lever-gun, hell, if you really wanna be crazy about it pick up a Marlin in .45-70, that'll hammer anything deader than dead.
Thats the nature of hunting in the woods, honestly now, how many deer have you taken at more than 100 yards? None if you're really hunting in the woods.
