You should be eating six light meals a day. Eating six meals a day will actually speed up your metabolism and cause you to lose weight. Starving yourself will do nothing and it actually slows down your metabolism a lot, and then when you actually do eat more fat is stored and you gain more weight.
My advice would be to eat six light meals a day but make sure you get all six in and space them apart while you are awake and do not eat right before going to bed because your body is still and cannot burn away the fat.
