I don't particularly like players who stick around just to break a record, and I'm not saying that Brett is doing that, but it would be a shame if he holds hostage the future of the team because he wants to break a record. Also, just because he hasn't been seriously hurt doesn't mean he can't be. Nothing remains the same, and it is quite possible that he can have a career ending injury that not only ends his career but hampers his life after football.
