Plus the grip safety has to be engaged. I don't worry loading mine anymore.
I have a charles daly that i got used for $450 and it hasn't malfunctioned since I replaced the crappy stock mags. I have put about 1200 rounds through it. Just thought I would throw that out there in response to the $600+ for a good 1911.
