Not to completely derail this thread, but I'm going to have to weigh in here with this Host matter as it relates to this particular forum. Most of you know me, I've been posting here for 4 years (come early june), Host's posts suck for me, not necessarily because I probably disagree with them, but due to length. Don't tell me he adds he own weight to what he posts and they are well thought out, they are not. Host adding a few sentences to 7 articles spanning 10+ pages of text is mind numbing, blame me and any laziness I have, but as far as the politics forum goes I have never had a problem "debating" "arguing" what have you, with anything anybody who is not in accordance with my stance views. Maybe it doesn't matter and this forum (politics or TFP at large) could care less, but I would almost say the lack of my presence here almost 100% directly correlates to Hosts posts, by and large I try and ignore them, I always pay close attention to people such as Will, Pan, Superbelt, RB, etc... Just weighing in, but reactions shown on this thread before me, prompted a personal examination; I have over 2600 posts, the majority of which are on this politics forum, somehow in the last month I've managed 4 posts, inspite checking everyday, multiple times a day.
Not trying to be a dick or hijack, doubt if anybody cares, and I'm not looking for validation. I just thought I'd weigh in as I do (did) like this place, mood has been vastly different around here as of late, it isn't hard to notice a conservative flight, I wonder if I'm the only one.
