Full Metal Jacket 6/10
I honestly don't think this movie is particularly great. R. Lee Ermey is shocking as the drill sergeant, and Vincent D'Onofrio does a great job, but the last 80 minutes of the movie are pretty listless. I also feel like the scene where Joker shoots the sniper is overplayed and clumsy.
I suppose it might be another case of a film overwhelming popular culture so that its impact is lessened by imitation, but I don't know.
