Oldtimer - I'd be real interested in some sort of quantitative analysis of just exactly how many people heard about Aqua Teen Hunger Force as a result of that campaign. I'd bet Turner broadcasting saved a ton of money by paying for the scare over what it would have cost them to buy that level of publicity in the traditional manner. Having said that - I don't care enough to actually do the math... <grin>
Just one more thing - Screech porn. Didn't see it, didn't care to, but it *was* the first time I had thought about the guy since I'd last accidentally seen him maybe ten years prior. If he'd played his cards right afterward, he probably could've got a reality tv show or something similarly inane and made a buck or two off it. Just because he didn't doesn't mean he couldn't have benefited from the negative publicity.
To be honest, what really causes me concern is that the Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt (aka: FUD) that the American ruling class is slathering across the continent is starting to slop over the borders. I hate to see the freedoms that our forefathers on both sides of the border fought and died for further eroded.
