I would guess squirming is a sign you are being too hard on the clit... but there really is no way of knowing for sure if you are or not unless you communicate with your partner. If you can eat her out, you can use your mouth for talking to her...
If she isn't squirming because of that, tie her ass up. She won't squirm then!
