I remember programming the VCR downstairs for HBO/Showtime on Saturday night. I had a special tape, and would always tape 15 minutes before the show, just to get the end of a normal movie (just in case anybody else looked at the tape). It was always kind of blocked, but you could still make out certain things.
What show was it? HBO's Real Sex and the Red Shoe Diaries (I knew who David Duchovny was before the X-Files) but I didn't understand the plots or storylines. . I might have been 12 or 13.
Also, I remember going to the library and trying to find information on female anatomy, sex and pictures of nudists at that age.
I only found one issue of Sports Illustrated’s Swimsuit edition outside in the woods growing up.
And my parents didn't have any porn anywhere in the house. Trust me, I looked everywhere. I never thought to look in other people's houses, but I doubt I would have found anything.
I was 16 when my family got dial-up internet. It took me a week to find :

It looks very similar today as it did in 1996. But I had to covertly look at this, just as I would have with any other adult magazine. I kept good pictures I found on floppy disks, which got transferred to CD, and now they are on external hard drives.
If we had today's computers and internet back then, I'm not sure if I would consider it missing out on the fun of searching everywhere in the house looking for it. And it would be interesting to see if my parents would take steps to prevent access to it. But, I think it would have been a good thing for it to lose a little bit of its mystery and naughtiness.
