Preparing to install
To use this feature, you must first install [PS2 System Data] on the PS3™ system’s hard disk. [PS2 System Data] can be downloaded from PLAYSTATION®Store.
1. From the home menu, select [Network], and then select [PLAYSTATION®Store].
You must create a PLAYSTATION®Network account to use PLAYSTATION®Store. For details, refer to the user’s guide for the PS3™ system.
2. Download [PS2 System Data] from [PLAYSTATION®Store].
Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the download. After the download has completed, [PS2 System Data] will be installed automatically. [PS2 System Data] is saved in [Game Data Utility] under [Game].
3. Close [PLAYSTATION®Store].
Installing PlayStation®2 format software
When you start a PlayStation®2 format software title that must be installed on the hard disk, the following screen is displayed.
First, create a game partition on the PS3™ system’s hard disk, and then install the PlayStation®2 format software in the partition. Follow the on-screen instructions to create the game partition, and then install the software.
* The type of data, number of discs, amount of hard disk space required, and other factors vary depending on the software title in use. For details, refer to the instructions for the software.
* PlayStation®2 format software titles that have been installed are started under [Game].
