I quite enjoyed this episode. The shot of Michael and Ryan at the Sex shop, surrounded by pixelated packages was a stroke of cinematic genius. What a great way to play with censorship.
As for Pam's lack of confidence, I like the symmetry that she has now traded places with Jim from the first season. Now she is the impotent flirter on the sidelines yet completely out of her depth.
A small gag that made me laugh out loud was when Stanley tried to cut into his stake with the flimsy plastic cutlery. His "Of course..." made me howl.
It's far too early to predict the season finale and how the Jim, Karen and Pam triangle will be resolved, but I'm hoping for a drunken threesome in the copy room.
