It's really not a mystery. Well, I'm a little mystified as to what you find mysterious about it.
"Ouch, that snake bit me!"
"Why did it bite me? I just wanted to play?"
"But why would it want to bite me?"
"How do I recognize other snakes so I don't get bit again?"
