Battlestar Galactica... yig.... yig...
...careful, it will sink its hooks into you.
Star Trek = Science Fiction ([yawn] this is so 1950s...)
Star Wars = Space Opera (Okay, now you have my attention...)
Firefly/Serenity(1) = Campy Sci-fi/Western-hybrid Dramedy (What?! Wicked!)
Battlestar Galactica(1) = Space-operatic Drama* (Yes! Finally!)

But about Firefly/Serenity: I'm happy with the fact that there was some closure with the feature film... and (at the risk of drawing your ire) I think this is more than we should have expected. I think much of the series' appeal for me is its ill-advised fate (i.e. "Poor, tragic Firefly...

). What's done is done. I'm happy with what we got.
