Loved it. The characters were a lot of fun, and the setting was gorgeous. I love the backstory too, but the game came from the same pedigree and designers as Final Fantasy Tactics, so for me it's an instant lock.
I was very concerned about the battle system after having played it at E3 a couple years ago, but after spending significant time with it (I've beaten the game now) I think it's really a fun way to go.
