Obviously you didn't read the quote from Wikipedia I posted. Quorn is made from mycoprotein--fungus. It is grown in a vat. The fact that it is a fungus gives the final product a more meaty taste and feel, which in my mind makes it a great meat alternative, even for people who swear they don't like fake meat.
And yes, it's healthier than meat.
