With the new year coming around its time to rebalance the ol' portfolio, and I'm looking to hedge my currently all-US ETF holdings against the falling dollar. To do this, I'm looking to put about a grand each in a foreign developed market ETF (like
EFA) and a developing market ETF (like
EEM).
Unfortunately, doing foreign ETFs isn't quite as simple as domestic, cause I don't know much about foreign stock markets or indices. With domestic stocks, buying the S%P 500 or the Vanguard total market index gives you diversified exposure to the entire US market, but I don't know what the overseas equivalents would be.
So any suggestions?
