But would Tiger have been as good as Jack back in the day when golfers made (comparatively) a fraction of the money and had fewer guaranteed pay days and had to drive from event to event rather than fly his private jet? We've all seen Tiger's lack of finishing when he's playing for something other than dollar figures (i.e., Ryder Cup). When first is out of reach, Tiger has a poor record of other top finishes in majors compared to Jack, who if he didn't win, finished 2nd or 3rd.
Right now, I view them as co-equals, each great in their own right. Head to head, all things being equal, Tiger would probably win more often than not, thanks to his superior short iron play and chipping/pitching.
