Let me elaborate...the smell is overpowering. I'm almost afraid to touch it or brush it now...maybe after I wash it.
Now...any tips on maintence? She said something about gelling it or curling it with an iron so it will hold...I guess I'll learn eventually.

If you want to wear your hair full and curly invest in a good ionic blowdryer with a ceramic diffuser attachment. It does wonders to avoid frizz and promote shine. There are also lots of products out there that will give your curls more definition and shine without making it hard and crispy like gel. I've been using the John Frieda Frizz Ease products for curls lately:

...and I've been really happy with them.
My hair is naturally curly, but I do highlight it pretty heavily so it's about the same difference. My hair is also very fine.
