I have a friend who made a short visit to Israel while serving in the US Navy. I don't know if he was anywhere near Arad, but I will send him an e-mail to ask.
I did a Google search for "Arad Israel restaurants", and found a couple of things:

One of the places on the list was called Muza. I looked online and found a web site for
Muza Pub. Most of the site is being developed, but the page I linked to talks a bit about the menu. It sounds like Dave would be able to get some American food (or at least Israeli versions of American food).
