Would you prefer Vietnam to be "isolated". Their only friends other US enemies pehaps? Maybe they could sell rice to North Korea in exchange for technology, or cashews to Iran in exchange for oil. Maybe the US could cut trade with Russia too yes?

Any scenario that I think of is worse than them exporting a clothes.

But it's all beside the point. Vietnam is already trading, within asiapac and with Europe.
