I should make this clear: I don't
think it's theft, I
know it's theft. Minors can legally own property. I bought, wiht my own money from my own job, a TV my senior year of HS. It was a crappy 20 inch AWEX color TV. Had my dad decided to take it from me to punish me for something, I could call the police. The police would ask my dad to return the TV, and if he didn't I could take it to a civil court and win. A parent can't take away a teenager's license any more than I can take away your license.

As for depriving a child of food, that should depend on how old the child is and how often it is done. One or two times is fine, I think, although I wouldn't specifically use this method with my kids.

So then we agree: starving your kids is bad.
