The biggest problem you have might be your feast-or-famine diet. After a few days of not eating, your body reacts to a huge influx of food by storing as much as possible as fat, so it can survive during the lean times.
Eating a regular, consistant diet will allow your body to get out of starvation mode. Not only will you store less fat, but you'll have a lot more energy because your body won't think that it has to place every spare calorie in storage. This will make exercise easier too.
