The hormones can even themselves out over time and it is worth waiting at least one or two more cycles, but only if you are able to continue your normal life activities. If the depression is interfering with things like eating, showering, or maintaining social relationships, then it would qualify as a major depressive episode and could be very dangerous, so don't wait any longer.

That said, my experience is that the nuvaring made my periods ten times worse, with cramping and bleeding much more severe. Also, my partner could feel it and it annoyed him. Also, the patch was too heavy a dose for me and made me quite ill, and the shot made me have my period for 6 months straight. That got old fast! So it's the pill for me.
