I once rescued a female calico manx. She had been beaten so badly that one of her rear legs had been broken at the hip and healed badly. I kept her as an outdoor cat for about two years and she became pregnant... Due to the broken pelvis/leg that I saw in the x-ray after having delivered her of two kittens myself one stillborn male and one healthy female she had to have a c-section.... $1,200 later I had another female kitten and another stillborn male. The two female kittens found a home and the mom ran away.
