You mean, specifically, people tried to create a MySpace account for TFP? Or tried doing the same for themselves? We have a MySpace thread in Nonsense, for all the link whoring needs. We definitely don't want people doing things "in the name of" because of a lot of reasons. As far as links in signatures go, we've always tried to crack down on personal plugs. This is more of a TFP venture, using everyone's MySpace footprint to help spread the word about the site, and hopefully generate some new members.
This isn't much of a gimmick. I mean, tons of celebs are using MySpace as their publicity hub, so it's a little different than sending people to some strange website where they have to give their personal information to to participate in this hit-or-miss event set up by Joexwyz398 who has been a TFP member for 2 weeks.
