I live for myself.
Once I made that break through - things are a lot better all around. Even my relationships with those who society says I am "supposed" to be living for instead (wife, kid, beggar on the street, etc.) is far more fruitful when I am honest with things like this.
Try it on. I suspect that lots of people feel empty when they have to pretend they are excited about living for others.
