"Superiority" to the Glock is a matter of opinion - please don't state it as fact. If you like the XD9 then more power to you ...
I'll take my Glock 23 (with 15+1 of .40S&W) any day of the week. The Glock has a lower bore axis so the muzzle flips less than the XD when shooting.
I must say the XD has a good reputation in the field so far, but the Glock has been around long enough to establish a solid track record of quality and reliability ...
They're both excellent guns.
