So, my problem is can I get the ink removed from these clothes. I know most ink these days is a water soluble and after many washes with a strong detergent can come out, however, these clothes were in the dryer when this pen exploded so therefor the ink may have set in (no may have about it...I fear).... any suggestions?

Ok, this just happened to me also. I tried goo gone, laundry pretreat spray, 409, all kinds of things. I searched google and have found the following:
For clothes: Aerosol Hairspray-the cheaper the better. Most inks are oil based, so this should work. Lay the clothing out, place an old towel or paper towel underneath to protect that surface that you lay it on. Saturate and then blot. Wash with Oxy Clean. If the stains come out, cool. If not, try dry-erase board cleaner. Of course test all of this on an inconspicious area first
For the dryer: Check your owners manual first, try their methods. If not try one of those Mr. Clean Magic Erasers & a little elbow grease. My reading says that this is probably the best method. I'm in the process of doing all this now. I'll post a reply when I'm done to let ya'll know if it has worked or not.
